Your privacy is foundational to OnlyUnlisted. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
We collect your .edu email address, chosen handle, class year, and profile photo when you sign up. We also collect usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the platform. We do not collect your real name unless you voluntarily provide it.
We use your information to operate and improve OnlyUnlisted, to verify your eligibility as a student, to send transactional emails (account confirmation, match notifications, subscription receipts), and to enforce our Terms of Service.
Your real identity is never displayed to other users. Your handle is the only identifier visible on the platform. We store your email address solely for account authentication and communication — it is never shared with other users.
Signal Packets are stored only long enough to facilitate the match game. If no mutual match occurs, the packet data is discarded. Matched conversations are retained until either user deletes or blocks the conversation.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (e.g., PayPal for payment processing, our email gateway for transactional emails) and only to the extent required.
We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or behavioral analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function correctly.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password.
OnlyUnlisted is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
